Information

Some Internet users can find websites difficult and sometimes even impossible to use simply because of the way they are designed. Here at gloss we provide services and products to the highest standard for all of our customers and this goes for our website too. This is why at gloss we make every effort to ensure that our website is easy to use and accessible to as many people as possible.

We are aware of the current types of technology used by people with disabilities and are constantly working on designing and redesigning pages to ensure compatibility with as many of these systems as possible.

If, whilst using our website, you come across a page or section of the site that is difficult to use for any reason, please let us know. We are always interested to hear new ways of improving our website and accessibility so please contact us.

Browser settings

Unfortunately, not all web browsers will allow you to make changes to the way you view websites but here are some simple changes you may be able to make to tailor the visibility of our site more to your individual needs.

To improve the visibility of the text on a site, you may be able to increase or decrease the size of it and alter the choice of font and colours used, as you may require specific colours in order to view the site easily.

For Microsoft Internet Explorer users

To alter the font size:

  • Go to 'View', choose 'Text Size' and select the appropriate font size e.g. larger/smaller

To alter the choice of font:

  • Go to 'Tools', scroll down and open your 'Internet Options' window. (May be under 'View' if not under 'Tools')
  • Under History, choose 'Fonts' and select your preferred style, then click 'OK'
  • Go to 'Accessibility' within 'Internet Options' and click on 'Ignore font styles/font sizes specified on Web pages'
  • When you click 'OK', this should ensure that the page you are viewing now appears with your specifications

Colour of text and background:

  • Go to 'Internet Options' (as above) and choose 'Colours'
  • You can change text and background page colour as well as the colour in which links appear, then click 'OK'
  • Choose 'Accessibility' from within 'Internet Options' and click on 'Ignore colours specified on Web pages'
  • When you click 'OK', this should ensure that the page you are viewing now appears with your specifications

For Netscape users

To alter the font size:

  • Go to 'View' and then choose 'Increase Font' as many times as you find necessary for the size you want

To alter the choice of font:

  • Go to 'Edit' 'Preferences', 'Appearance', 'Fonts' and choose 'Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts'. This will ensure that the set fonts are ignored by your browser

Colour of text and background

  • Go to 'Preferences', 'Appearance', 'Colours' and choose 'Always use my colours, overriding document', then specify your colours
